He had to wait longer than he had hoped, but coach Bobby Hurley secured his first Pac-12 win Thursday night, Arizona State defeating Washington State 84-73 at Wells Fargo Arena.
Throughout his college career, Hurley never had lost four consecutive games. Not in four years as a point guard at Duke. Not in two years as a head coach at Buffalo. The Sun Devils – who lost their first three conference contests – made sure to keep it that way.
With the win, ASU improved to 11-6 and 1-3 in the conference. From here, the Sun Devils will try to build on it, starting with Saturday’s home game against Washington.
