Scottsdale, Ariz. – Arizona State recorded its best round since at least 1993, carding 257 (65-65-64-63) and catapulted into second with a tournament-best 23-under-par on day two of the 2022 Maui Jim Intercollegiate at The Mirabel Golf Club. ASU's four counting scorers only had one bogey in the effort.
"I go back to yesterday," ASU Head Coach Matt Thurmond said. "We got it together on the back-9 yesterday and had a stellar round today. I'm proud of the guys."
Beginning the day in sixth overall and on the 10th hole, ASU flew into the top three after just three holes as three different Sun Devils birdied early.
