New coach, new stadium, new hope.
For the eighth time in just under four decades, Arizona State football will start over again, trying to find the sustained elite success that's eluded the program since Frank Kush's coaching peak in the 1970s.
ASU has tried virtually every coaching age and style since 1980. None of the seven post-Kush choices departed with a losing record, and most had a significant high-water moment. There are three Pac-12 titles and a Pac-12 South crown, two Rose Bowls and a Fiesta Bowl and three top-10 final national rankings over a 38-year span.
