TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Hockey (10-10-0) is off and running to open 2022 after stunning No. 9 Cornell with the 5-2 upset at Oceanside, handing Cornell just their second loss of the season. This is the first top-10 win for ASU since the 2-1 defeat of No. 8 Clarkson in January of 2020, and the five goals tonight was the most for an opponent against Big Red all season.
Head Coach Greg Powers notes the team's impressive play at home, "It was a good team win. Top to bottom, I thought everybody played well, and we had the big saves when we needed them from Cole and that settled us, and the guys played the last two periods very well.
