CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Following a two-day selection process, freshman pitcher Giselle Juarez was one of 24 athletes to be selected to continue their training for a spot on the 2017 USA Softball Junior Women's National Team (JWNT), USA Softball announced Tuesday.
"What a great honor for Giselle, our program and the state of Arizona," said head ASU softball coach Trisha Ford. "There is nothing like wearing the red, white and blue. Competing for your country and the experience Giselle will obtain from this opportunity is immeasurable. We are so proud of her."
Selected by members of the Women's National Team Selection Committee (WNTSC), the remaining 24 athletes will compete in a training camp and exhibition games in Oklahoma City and at the World Cup of Softball XII.
