Gary Gentry is Arizona State's latest inductee into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame.
Gentry was national Player of the Year (Sporting News) in 1967 when he won 17 games and struck out 229 batters, helping ASU win its second College World Series title.
In two starts at the 1967 CWS, Gentry allowed two earned runs in 23 innings, an 0.78 ERA. He struck out 15 in a 14-inning complete game win over Stanford and scored the winning run. His 31 total strikeouts are second most in CWS history.
Gentry, 73, is an Arizona native and attended Camelback High School.
