After quarterback Sam Darnold was sacked on USC’s first play of the game, the Trojans rebounded to convert a nine-play, 75-yard drive to take an early 7-0 lead over Arizona State in the first quarter.
On the drive, Darnold was 5-for-6 passing for 78 yards — including a 32-yard touchdown pass to Deonta Burnett.
