Freshman Remy Martin on Wednesday scored 25 points to lead Arizona State to an 85-77 exhibition win over host San Diego at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
The charity event – organized the last two weeks – raised funds for hurricane victims in Puerto Rico. For the Sun Devils, it had the added bonus of simulating a road trip.
In last week’s first exhibition, ASU edged Div. II Northern State 98-90 in double-overtime. This time the Sun Devils didn’t get the same kind of scare, but it was far from easy.
Martin hit a 3 with 3:24 to go, giving ASU a 77-75 lead it didn’t relinquish.
