TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Football’s D.J. Foster is this week’s nominee for the 2015 Orange Bowl-FWAA Courage Award, the Orange Bowl announced Wednesday.
The Courage Award honors student-athletes who display courage on or off the field, including overcoming an injury or physical handicap, preventing a disaster or living through hardship. A select group of writers from the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) vote on the winner at the end of the year. Arizona State’s Angelo Richardson, who enrolled in school six years after a shooting left him paralyzed from the waist down, was a 2012 nominee for the Courage Award.
