USC safety Chris Hawkins, a redshirt sophomore, lost his job as starting cornerback during the offseason.
Now USC's leader in collected turnovers, Hawkins has impressed in his new role on the Trojans' defense. Against Arizona State, Hawkins returned a fumble for 94 yards and a touchdown. He also intercepted a pass against Arkansas State (he leads USC in interceptions) and recovered a fumble in the same game.
