Former Arizona State head football coach Darryl Rogers passed away Wednesday at the age of 83.
Rogers served as ASU's head coach from 1980-1984, going 37-18-1 during his time at the helm for the Sun Devils. After a 7-4 record in his first season, Rogers led ASU to a cumulative record of 19-4 in 1981-82. The 1982 squad finished 10-2 and culminated the campaign with a 32-31 win over Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl. The Sun Devils concluded the 1982 season ranked No. 6 in the AP poll.
In 2012, Rogers was inducted into the ASU Hall of Distinction, the branch of the Hall of Fame honoring coaches and administrators.
