Former Arizona State quarterback Mike Bercovici, who spent this past season as a graduate assistant on coach Herm Edwards’ staff with the Sun Devils, is joining the Arizona Cardinals as an entry-level assistant coach.
DevilsDigest.com first reported the news on Tuesday morning. The Republic independently confirmed the report through a team source.
Bercovici, 27, will have a role assisting coach Kliff Kingsbury’s offensive staff, most likely working with Kyler Murray and the team’s other quarterbacks. Tom Clements returns for his second season as quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator.
Bercovici signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2016 and spent parts of two seasons with the team before briefly joining the Cardinals as a member of the team’s practice squad in 2017.
