It's too early to say how in-state recruiting will be impacted by new Arizona State football coach Herm Edwards, who was announced Monday as the team's "CEO."
But on the surface, local high school coaches' opinions vary.
If Edwards is to inherit the assistants from fired coach Todd Graham's staff, Mesa Desert Ridge coach Jeremy Hathcock believes it won't work.
"Every new coach I know can't go to war with people you don't know," Hathcock said. "The only success they have in the next year is because of what Todd Graham did. I think it's going to be the ultimate failure.
