LINCOLN, Neb. – Sun Devil senior Magdalyn Ewen already owned Arizona State's indoor shot put record coming into Friday's Husker Invitational, but the Minnesota native added another school record to her list of accomplishments to cap off an eventful evening in Lincoln.
Ewen secured a comfortable lead in the weight throw after her second attempt with the 20-pound instrument, and held on to first place for the rest of the competition. Her fifth attempt made history, as she heaved the weight more than 72 feet to set the Sun Devil record.
That record only lasted a few minutes as she supplanted it with another monster throw in her sixth and final attempt and staked her claim in ASU history with a mark of 22.
