Upon review of Arizona State’s disappointing 2015 season, coach Todd Graham realized something: The Sun Devils sure did miss Cameron Smith, the speedy receiver who sat out recovering from knee surgery.
“Well, he had more explosive plays than anybody on our offense,” Graham said, referring to Smith’s 2014 performance as a sophomore. “That’s the big thing. His ability to have one-play touchdowns. He had more explosive plays than (NFL third-round draft pick) Jaelen (Strong). That’s something we missed tremendously.”
This spring, Smith is back with the Sun Devils, preparing to play a significant role in this season’s offense, one that will include a new quarterback and rebuilt offensive line.
