Coach Todd Graham made it clear Monday that he didn’t think Arizona State’s season-high 10 penalties were the reason the Sun Devils lost to USC last Saturday.
But he also made it clear – in his own way – that he didn’t agree with every one of those yellow flags.
Graham pointed out that ASU had been flagged for nine-plus penalties only three times during his six seasons in Tempe.
Shortly after Graham’s weekly news conference, word circulated in the ASU media room that one official – referee Land Clark – had worked all three of those contests.
