FORT WORTH, Texas – Despite putting up a three-run top of the eighth inning, Sun Devil Baseball's comeback attempt fell short as they fell, 8-4, to No. 1 TCU on Saturday night at Lupton Stadium.
Arizona State (4-2) opened the scoring in the top of the first, in part by sophomore Tyler Williams, who had his third straight game with an RBI. The designated hitter nailed a fly ball to right field, deep enough for junior Andrew Shaps to tag up and score from third base.
Texas Christian (5-1) would quickly retaliate in their half of the first, with Luken Baker sending a 3-run shot over the center field wall off of Devils' starter junior Ryan Hingst (0-1).
