COLUMBIA, S.C. – The dual match came down to the wire, but Arizona State beach volleyball fell just short of taking down No. 11 South Carolina, losing 3-2 on the Gamecocks' home court on Sunday morning.
The Sun Devils (13-10, 1-4 Pac-12) kept the dual close. South Carolina (13-6) won in two with their No. 2 pair to get the first point, but Kate Baldwin and Samantha Plaster followed that up by taking their match in two on the fourth court, tying the dual at 1-1.
After another point for the Gamecocks on court one, the remaining matches on courts three and five went to three sets to determine the winner.
