SAN FRANCISCO – Sun Devil Football freshman placekicker Carter Brown was named the Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday morning.
Brown enjoyed an incredible debut in the Maroon & Gold, making major contributions to Arizona State's 40-3 season-opening victory over Northern Arizona.
The Sun Devils picked up their 11th consecutive win over the Lumberjacks and emerged victorious in their 20th straight home opener. Brown opened the scoring with a 27-yard field goal, registering the first points of the season in the first quarter. Arizona State did not look back, building a comfortable lead before halftime on the strength of an impressive running game.
