TUCSON, Ariz. -- Sophomore Gage Canning notched his team-leading fourth three-hit game of the season, but Sun Devil Baseball fell to Arizona, 11-2, on Tuesday night at Hi Corbett Field in Tucson.
The Devils (12-15) got the scoring started in the first frame when junior Andrew Shaps and freshman Lyle Lin nailed back-to-back singles to put two on with one out. Taking advantage of two errors by the Wildcats, sophomore Tyler Williams reached on a fielder's choice and drew an errant throw, allowing Shaps to score from third.
