Before Rod Woodson became an All-American defensive back and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, he was a just a high school kid looking for a place to play college football.
If not for a recruiting trip gone awry, that place could have been Arizona State.
Woodson, now an assistant coach with the Oakland Raiders, said on the “Rich Eisen Show” Friday that he was excited about his visit to Tempe in 1982.
His player host, whose name he didn’t remember, invited him to go to a movie after dinner and before they would attend a social event later in the evening.
