Coach Bobby Hurley and the ASU men’s basketball team knew Sunday would be tense.
The Sun Devils, who went undefeated in the non-conference team and at one point were the third-ranked team in the country, were roughed up in the Pac-12 regular season. A first-round loss to Colorado in the conference tournament cast a large shadow of whether ASU would even make the NCAA Tournament.
With the Selection Sunday broadcast announcing at-large teams in alphabetical order, ASU didn’t have to wait long to hear whether it had made it in or not.
Once they heard they were going dancing, Hurley and the Sun Devils responded appropriately.
