SCOTTSDALE – Sun Devil Baseball dropped its opening game of the Pac-12 Tournament, 8-7, in pool play against Stanford (21-32, 11-19 Pac-12), after giving up all eight runs in a disastrous fourth inning at Scottsdale Stadium on Tuesday morning.
Arizona State (32-25, 17-13 Pac-12) rallied to make things interesting and got the tying run to the plate in the ninth after scoring seven unanswered and loading the bases in three different innings after Stanford's explosive fourth. But the big hit to put up a true crooked number evaded ASU, which stranded 13 baserunners - including the tying run at third and winning run at first in the ninth.
