STARKVILLE, Miss. – Sun Devil Baseball battered the 2021 College World Series Champion Mississippi State, 13-4, on Friday night at Dudy Noble Field in Starkville, Miss. The nine-run winning margin tied ASU's largest in a road non-conference game against a Power-5 opponent (excluding Arizona) since May 2, 2001 - a 15-1 victory at Tennessee.
ASU improved to 5-0 behind scorching offense in the early innings and shutdown pitching. Luke Keaschall hit his second leadoff home run of the season and ASU has scored in four of its five first innings this season. The Sun Devils put up two more in the first and extended their lead to five on a two-run shot by Wyatt Crenshaw in the second.
