TEMPE - Sun Devil Baseball (7-8, 1-2 Pac-12) came up short, 8-5, in the rubber match of its three-game Pac-12 opening series against Oregon (11-4, 2-1 Pac-12) at Phoenix Municipal Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
ASU led after two innings for the second game in a row but a wind-aided grand slam in the fourth spoiled a solid start for , who started his afternoon well, not allowing a hit and striking out five through 4.1 innings. The Devils battled back several times down the stretch but the team couldn't muster the big hits in big moments to even things up.
