Marcus Ball first flew on an airplane when he came from Ohio for an official recruiting visit at Arizona State.
It was not long after his 18th birthday and his successful senior season as quarterback/safety at Westerville South High School in suburban Columbus. He was committed to Wisconsin, where his brother, Ray, already was playing, but open to switching once coach Brett Bielema left the Badgers for Arkansas. DelVaughn Alexander, who recruited Ball when he was an assistant at Wisconsin, now was at ASU and pushing hard to flip the nationally ranked all-purpose recruit.
"Something clicked for me," Ball said.
