SAN DIEGO– In their opening match of the Ed Collins Classic, No. 22 Arizona State men's tennis (11-5) defeated San Diego State (8-3) 4-1. The Sun Devils are in the winner's bracket, which has them facing the winner of today's No. 26 Princeton/Tulane matchup tomorrow, March 16 at 3:30 p.m. MST.
The Sun Devils clinched the doubles point against the Aztecs and had a 1-0 lead headed into singles. The duo of Murphy Cassone and Jacob Bullard have won their last four doubles matches including today's 6-2 victory.
Max McKennon and Bor Artnak each picked up singles wins in straight sets, while Daniel Phillips fell in straight sets.
