COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior diver David Hoffer earned a top-five finish in the 3-meter dive at the USA Diving National Championships over the weekend, placing fifth in the finals.
Hoffer finished fifth with a score of 356.35 in the 3-meter springboard out of the 14-competitor pool of finalists. He improved upon his semifinals score by nearly four points.
Concluding a successful junior season and starting his senior year at the USA Championships, Hoffer competed in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard at NCAA's earlier this year. He was named the Ward O'Connell Most Valuable Men's Diver for 2016-17, also receiving Second Team Pac-12 All-Academic honors.
