Defensive tackle Renell Wren became the second Arizona State player drafted when he was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals with the 23rd pick in the fourth round (125th overall) on Saturday, the third day of the NFL draft held this year in Nashville, Tenn.
Wren, a native of St. Louis, played in 29 games in his ASU career, totaling 81 tackles, 51 of those solo. This season he managed a career-high 43 tackles and earned All-Pac-12 honorable mention accolades.
The 6-foot-5, 318-pounder has the physical tools to compete at the next level. He was among the elite athletes invited to the NFL combine in Indianapolis where he ran a 5.
