Ismael Murphy-Richardson, one of Arizona State's most promising defensive players, has been dismissed from the program following his arrest on fraudulent use of a credit card.
Murphy-Richardson -- who played at Goodyear Desert Edge High -- just completed his redshirt-freshman season. He lined up at Devilbacker, a key pass-rushing position in coach Todd Graham's attacking scheme, and also was a key contributor on special teams. Murphy-Richardson finished with 15 tackles, including 2.5 quarterback sacks. He also blocked a point-after attempt in the Cactus Bowl that junior receiver Tim White returned for two points.
This was the second known time Murphy-Richardson had gotten into some sort of trouble.
