TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State redshirt junior quarterback Manny Wilkins was named to the Davey O'Brien Award's "Great 8" players for week four of the college football season, according to an announcement by the Davey O'Brien Foundation on Monday.
Wilkins was brilliant in ASU's 37-35 upset of then-No. 24 Oregon on Saturday. The Sun Devil signal caller threw for 347 yards and accounted for three TDs (one passing, two rushing) against the Ducks. Wilkins completed 24 of 39 passes and set a new school record for most consecutive attempts without an interception (188). He directed an 11-play, 57-yard drive that set up the winning points, Brandon Ruiz' 41-yard field goal with 2:33 remaining.
