Maybe it was because of the all-gray uniforms that made the gold numbers difficult to read, but Antonio Longino's initial Territorial Cup stat line did not scream Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week.
A day later, though, after corrections were made, Longino had the credentials to warrant becoming the first Arizona State defensive player to repeat as conference POW, an award Sun Devils have been winning since 1983. The only previous ASU back-to-back POW was kicker Thomas Weber for specials teams in 2007.
"Anybody really could have got it this week," Longino said Tuesday. "Everybody on the defense brought it.
