Die-hard Arizona State football fans know all about Ellis Jefferson. He's the kid from Texas. The sophomore receiver with great size and solid hands.
But perhaps to casual fans, Jefferson is ASU's Mr. Anonymous. As a redshirt freshman last season, Jefferson backed up Jaelen Strong, the one-handed-touchdown-catching, Hail Mary-answering All-Pac-12 receiver who ended up as a third-round NFL draft pick.
Then there's this: Jefferson shares a house with senior quarterback Mike Bercovici, senior receiver D.J. Foster and senior safety Jordan Simone. All three are team captains, the faces of Sun Devil football.
