BERKELEY, Calif. -- Earlier this week, Arizona State coach Bobby Hurley was asked how the absence of California do-everything guard Tyrone Wallace – sidelined this week with a broken wrist – affected the Sun Devils’ game plan. Hurley didn’t hesitate.
“Our game plan has been us,’’ he said. “I haven’t really talked a whole lot about Cal. We need to get back to playing the way we need to play in order for us to be successful.”
Entering Thursday’s contest against the Golden Bears, the Sun Devils (11-7, 1-4 Pac-12) are in a difficult spot. In danger of getting left behind the pack, they need to pick up road wins in a conference that doesn’t yield many.
