George Lea admits he made a mistake.
It was a tough lesson to learn.
“Not to play around,” the Arizona State redshirt-freshman defensive tackle said in his first public comments since his arrest last summer. “Not to do dumb pranks. Because it hurts not only me, but it hurts the team and my family.”
Ask ASU coach Todd Graham and defensive coordinator Keith Patterson which young players they are interested in evaluating this spring, and Lea is among the first mentioned. A high school three-star prospect from New Orleans, Lea enrolled early and impressed both coaches during last year’s spring practice.
