In his second time around as a major college football offensive coordinator, Billy Napier is much more than an improved play caller.
He's 38 now. Not 29 like in 2008 when Tommy Bowden resigned as Clemson head coach and was replaced by Dabo Swinney, who elevated Napier first to coach quarterbacks then to offensive coordinator for the 2009 season.
Swinney still is at Clemson, probably for as long as he chooses given the national championship he won last season. But Clemson's string of six consecutive double-digit win seasons began after Swinney fired Napier following a 6-7 season in 2010.
