TEMPE, Ariz.—Arizona State wrestling’s freshman heavyweight Tanner Hall was named to the 2016 AWN All-Rookie Team, Amateur Wrestling News announced on Wednesday.
A 2016 NCAA qualifier, Hall joins Iowa freshman Sam Stoll and Edinboro’s William Miller as the recognized heavyweights, the trio combining for 77 victories in the 2015-16 season.
Hall with 12-6 in dual matches this season, and finished third at the Pac-12 Championships, earning one of the league’s NCAA bids. He also finished as the heavyweight runner-up at the Midlands Championships and fourth place at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite, also in December.
Earlier this spring, Hall was one of two Pac-12 wrestlers to be recognized by The Open Mat when he was named to their All-Freshman Team.
