SAN FRANCISCO—Three members of the Arizona State wrestling team were named to the 2016 Pac-12 All-Academic teams, the Pac-12 Conference and Commissioner Larry Scott announced on Thursday.
Leading the way for the Sun Devils was senior Ares Carpio, who was named to the First Team with a 3.35 GPA in computer systems engineering. Redshirt sophomore Oliver Pierce and redshirt sophomore Blake Stauffer earned honorable mention recognition for the first time in their respective careers.
This marks Carpio’s third career conference academic honor, and his first nod to the First Team. Carpio was on the 2015 Honorable Mention list, and on the second team in 2014.
