AUSTIN – All season long, the No. 7 Arizona State Sun Devils had flourished against their opponents because of their ability to control the pace and dominate the boards – especially on the offensive end. But in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, the No. 2 Texas Longhorns welcomed the Sun Devils into their home with a clear message: That’s how we play too.
ASU head coach Charli Turner Throne watched from the bench – sometimes kneeling, sometimes sitting but always encouraging – as her team looked overmatched Monday at the Frank Erwin Center.
For the third straight year, ASU was eliminated in the second round, this time falling to Texas 85-65.
