Many talk about morale wins being meaningless in sports, however, Saturday’s result at Desert Financial Arena might be an indication of things to come for the Sun Devil volleyball program.
Arizona State (2-1) pushed No. 13 Louisville (3-0) to the brink before ultimately falling 3-2 (25-15, 24-26, 25-17, 24-26, 15-11).
The Sun Devils showed resiliency and maturity as a team built on youth and newcomers. In both set victories, coach Sanja Tomasevic’s squad found itself down to set point. Each time Arizona State rallied for three and four consecutive points to swing the set in its favor.
