Arizona State volleyball (8-9, 1-5 Pac-12) has suffered a handful of tough, close losses this season, but Sunday’s result may have been the most heartbreaking. No. 11 Washington escaped Tempe with a 3-2 win (22-25, 25-15, 25-18, 21-25, 17-15).
The Sun Devils were able to push another contest to the fifth set. Unlike the past ones, they had a lead very late into it. Arizona State had game point following a kill Claire Jeter, but things went south fast. Three straight errors from the Sun Devils led to a Washington victory. This marks the sixth Sun Devil loss in five sets this season.
