The New Mexico State Aggies were on the move Thursday night, driving deep into Arizona State territory and the most surprising part was the man watching from far down the sideline, perhaps 40 yards away.
Throughout his time in Tempe, Todd Graham has had a heavy hand with the defense. He has worn colored wrist bands to help signal in plays. He has changed calls, waving his arms frantically as the offense prepared to snap the ball.
In Thursday night's 37-31 opening win over New Mexico State, Graham took a different approach. After two losing seasons – a slide that might have his job in jeopardy – the ASU coach had more of a CEO presence.
