Remy Martin has been an emotional leader from the day he arrived on the Arizona State campus. As he goes, the Sun Devils go.
But his 3-pointer with seven minutes left in the first half against Washington State brought out even more emotion than is usual. The junior point guard was coming off perhaps his worst game in an ASU uniform and he missed his first three tries from the field, one of which he airballed.
Martin threw his fist in the air and let out a scream as the ball sailed through the net. He was back, so were the Sun Devils who surged past visiting Washington State 83-74 in the regular season finale for both squads Saturday at Desert Financial Arena.
