TEMPE – Arizona State University softball’s Amber Freeman was named as one of 55 players from 28 institutions to be selected to the 2015 NFCA Division I All-America team, earning First Team honors as announced by the association on Wednesday.
Freeman was one of 13 selections from the Pac-12 Conference, picking up the First Team honor allocated for the DP or utility position a she spent the majority of the season as the designated player while sharing time with Sashel Palacios behind the plate at catcher.
The slugger’s dedication to the DP role was made clear as she had a career year as a hitter, knocking a team-high 15 home runs while batting .
