It’s not everyday a Wildcat becomes a Sun Devil, but that was the case on Thursday. Arizona State softball team announced the signing of Arizona transfer Marissa Schuld.
Schuld, a Pinnacle High School graduate, is a two-way player. In her two years at Arizona she saw limited playing time on an upperclassmen heavy Wildcat roster. During her freshman year in 2019, she pitched 14.2 innings with a 0.48 ERA and had four at-bats.
She began to develop a role for herself at the plate in 2020 before the season ended. Schuld finished with a .350 batting average in 40 at-bats including a home run at Farrington Stadium against Portland State during the Kajikawa Classic.
