No. 17 Arizona State (11-2) rebounded Friday afternoon with a 9-5 victory over LIU Brooklyn (3-8) in Palm Springs, Calif., as they continued the Mary Nutter Tournament.
After having their 10-game winning streak snapped by two-time defending national champions No. 4 Oklahoma Thursday night, the Devils wasted no time getting back to their winning ways.
New additions continued to fuel the Arizona State offense. Freshman infielder Bella Loomis got the start at third base over junior Taylor Becerra on Friday and the she took advantage of the opportunity.
Loomis got the scoring started for the Sun Devils in the second inning, as fellow freshman first baseman Danielle Gibson led off the inning with a double.
