ASU Softball: No. 13 Sun Devils score 21 runs, beat GCU in first-ever meeting

The Sun Devils established quite the run differential for their all-time series against Grand Canyon (15-19). No. 13 Arizona State (22-9) run-ruled the Antelopes 21-0 on Tuesday in the programs’ first-ever matchup.

A lot happened in the Arizona State’s 13-run second inning. Maddi Hackbarth homered to bring her season total to 15, she only needs six more to break the programs single-season record. She also had a two-run double in the second. Alynah Torres hit a three-run home run.

Nine different Sun Devils drove in runs. There were notable plays such as Jordyn VanHook’s three-run blast, Emily Cazares first career hit as well as Halle Harger and Makenna Harper combining for seven RBIs.
