ASU Softball: Mazon leads Beavers past the Sun Devils

After a quiet six innings, Arizona State softball seemed to finally get things going in the bottom of the seventh.

But at that point Mariah Mazon and Oregon State had all but quenched the fire of the hometown Sun Devils.

In the Pac-12 opener, the Beavers (17-5) defeated the No. 17 Sun Devils (20-8) 5-1, extending the team’s winning streak to five games.

Oregon State limited a potent ASU offense to only two hits through six innings, and five in total.

The credit going to sophomore Mariah Mazon (9-3), who threw her eighth complete game of the season, giving up only five hits and striking out five.
