Arizona State softball’s wait to again be a postseason host is over.
No. 8 seed ASU and No. 14 seed Arizona were chosen Sunday among 16 sites for a four-team NCAA Tournament regional. The four-team, double-elimination regionals begin Thursday or Friday.
No. 1 seed Oregon, No. 3 UCLA and No. 5 Washington also are regional hosts from the Pac-12. Oregon State and California also made the 64-team field announced Sunday night.
As a top-eight national seed, ASU (43-11) also will host a super regional if it advances to that round. Super regional winners qualify for the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City.
