Arizona State soccer has reason to be optimistic going into its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2014. But there's also to be wary of first-round opponent Siena, particularly since ASU failed to score in its final three regular season games.
The Sun Devils (8-5-2), at at-large selection in the 48-team field, face Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference automatic qualifier Siena (6-0-2) at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Greenville, North Carolina, at East Carolina's Johnson Stadium.
The winner advances to play No. 9-seeded Duke (10-5-3) on Saturday.
"We respect all our opponents," ASU coach Graham Winkworth said.
